About Urgent Care

When you or your child are not feeling well, you should not have to wait days for answers or spend hours in a waiting room. Nadine Opong is a dual board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who provides convenient telehealth urgent care for patients of all ages with common, non-emergency medical concerns.

Urgent Care Q&A

Feel better without the wait

Getting sick or dealing with an uncomfortable health concern can disrupt your entire day. Whether you or a family member woke up with a painful sore throat, UTI symptoms, a rash, sinus pressure, nausea, or a migraine, you deserve timely care that is clear, convenient, and focused on helping you move forward.

Swift Solutions Medical Center provides secure telehealth urgent care visits for patients of all ages with common non-emergency concerns. Nadine listens carefully, reviews symptoms and medical history, and develops a treatment plan based on each patient’s needs. When clinically appropriate, treatment may include prescriptions, home-care guidance, laboratory orders, referrals, work or school documentation, and follow-up recommendations.

No crowded waiting room. No rushing to find an appointment. Just professional care from the privacy and comfort of home.

What urgent care concerns can be treated through telehealth?

Telehealth urgent care may be appropriate for common concerns such as:

  • Cold, flu, or COVID-like symptoms
  • Sore throat, sinus symptoms, and ear pain
  • Pink eye
  • Urinary tract infection symptoms
  • Rashes, itching, and minor skin concerns
  • Allergic reactions without severe symptoms
  • Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and stomach upset
  • Headaches and migraines
  • Minor injuries when an in-person examination is not needed
  • Medication questions or minor medication-related concerns
  • Work or school notes when clinically appropriate

If you are unsure whether a concern can be safely managed by telehealth, book a visit and provide as much detail as possible about the symptoms, when they started, and what has already been tried.

What happens during an urgent care visit?

The visit begins with a focused discussion of symptoms, medical history, medications, allergies, and any relevant home measurements or test results. For children and adolescents, a parent or legal guardian should be available to participate in the visit when appropriate.

Nadine will ask questions to better understand what is happening and determine whether telehealth treatment is appropriate.

Your plan may include:

  • A clinical assessment and treatment recommendations
  • Prescription treatment when clinically appropriate
  • Guidance on over-the-counter options and home care
  • Laboratory or imaging orders when clinically appropriate
  • Work or school documentation when medically supported
  • Referral to an in-person provider or specialist when needed
  • Clear instructions about symptoms that require a higher level of care

The goal is not to rush you through a quick visit. The goal is to make sure you understand the plan, know what to do next, and recognize when additional care is needed.

Can you prescribe medication through telehealth?

Yes. Nadine may prescribe medication when clinically appropriate after evaluating symptoms, history, allergies, current medications, and treatment needs.

Not every illness requires an antibiotic or prescription. Many viral illnesses improve with supportive care, rest, hydration, and symptom management. If medication is appropriate, treatment options will be reviewed clearly so you understand how and when to use them.

Can you treat a UTI, sinus infection, rash, or pink eye online?

Many uncomplicated concerns—including UTI symptoms, sinus symptoms, certain rashes, and pink eye—may be evaluated through telehealth. The visit includes a review of symptoms and relevant history to determine whether treatment can be safely provided remotely.

Some symptoms require in-person testing, an examination, imaging, or urgent evaluation. If that is the safest next step, Nadine will guide you to the appropriate level of care.

Can I get a work or school note?

When clinically appropriate, work notes and school notes may be provided following an evaluation. Documentation is based on the medical condition and visit findings. A visit does not guarantee approval of a requested note, excuse, form, or leave.

When is telehealth urgent care not appropriate?

Telehealth urgent care is not appropriate for emergencies, severe symptoms, or concerns that require immediate hands-on evaluation or a procedure.

Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department for chest pain, severe shortness of breath, symptoms of stroke, fainting, severe allergic reaction, uncontrolled bleeding, severe abdominal pain, confusion, seizures, suicidal thoughts, or any other potentially life-threatening emergency.

You may also need in-person care for symptoms that require a physical examination, rapid testing, laboratory testing, imaging, wound repair, injections, or procedures.
